The Lost Realist

Alright, the name’s Nikunj Raghuvanshi (or as american’s parse it: Nik-<unj/anj>?, Raghu-<what the BEEP>), the place is UNC Chapel Hill, the year is 25 AN (A-fter N-ikunj) and the time is ripe to blabber about myself. Since narcissistic ramblings, excepting autobiographies of famous/rich people, usually bore people to death, I will keep this short. I am from India, did my B.Tech. in Computer Science at IIT Kanpur and then came over to UNC to ruin the Computer Graphics research going on over here. I will spare you the “I had always been interested in Graphics since my school days and I always wanted to work for world peace, blah blah blah”. Once I realized I was a no-gooder at even graphics, I switched to sound simulation. So now along with crappy visuals I can make a comp blabber nonsense too, ain’t that interesting?!

I am an omnivorous bookworm, an unabashed pseudo-geek (because normal people think I am a geek and “real” geeks think I am not), amateur guitar lover, obsessive music listener, newbie tennis player and a clueless writer. Which sums up to exactly what you’re thinking: I am good for mostly nothing; thats why I am doing a PhD instead of a real job. Don’t start laughing at me though, maybe you are no better either. Slaving in the industry doesn’t count as a job, its slavery. Just one more thing: I switch between being moronically humorous and stoically philosophical at least a dozen times a day. And just in case you didn’t notice, right now I am in the moronically humorous mood. So beware!

And by the way, all this was supposed to be humorous, if you didn’t get that I can’t help you. Go smell some laughing gas, that should help. If even that doesn’t help, try cyanide gas. You need it.
